Hello...
My name is Erika and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (High Intensity Training'), in addition to a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in 'Psychology with Counselling'.
As an active member of the BABCP, I have been practicing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for three years and have spent most of my time working in the voluntary sector as a CBT Therapist within an island community service. I have also worked in Secondary Schools as a Wellbeing Practitioner with a focus on early intervention. Both roles have offered a broad range of experience including work with a wide range of client groups including teenagers, and adults.
I have a sincere passion for helping others and am eager to work collaboratively with clients of all ages (16+) and backgrounds. Within sessions, I make use of a variety of modalities to create a nurturing and empowering therapeutic environment. My ultimate goal is to offer individuals the support and resources they need to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and to develop their own unique set of skills to overcome challenges with resilience & confidence. Strategies include (but are not limited to) psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, behavioural activation, exposure therapy, & trauma-focused interventions.
It’s really important that you work with someone you feel comfortable with. I offer a free 15-minute video-call or telephone consultation so you can get a feel for how I could help. Alternatively... if you prefer, send me a message at kindmindiom@gmail.com or fill in a form here.
